Generosity is contagious around here!
The language school hosted a gigantic party for a local Christian children’s home to kick off their Christmas celebrations awhile ago. It was a blast!
But there were also some serious tears–
When the teachers and the live-in “moms” from the children’s home arrived on our campus, we told them that a special afternoon was planned just for them while their kiddos were having fun.
But pay close attention to this photo. Recognize anyone??
Hang on — the woman in the top left corner of that photo up there. Do you remember her?
Here’s a hint:
Yep, she got a manicure at the staff retreat that we just told you about in our last Trekker.
Well, guess what? It was her idea to host those “moms” from the children’s home when they came here for the kids’ Christmas party!
(To our shame, our school has been doing this party for the children’s home for more than 30 years and this was the first time anyone had ever thought to do anything special for the caregivers!)
As soon as these hard-working, but tired caregivers saw the dessert table and heard about the manicures and mini-massages waiting for them, they started crying.
We are excited to think that the generosity we showed to our campus staff has inspired them to keep being generous to others!
And you know who was generous to us?
You!
Because of your generosity, we could pay it forward to our staff, who in turn paid it forward to some very grateful orphanage caregivers.
Merry Christmas!
