So, in a lapse of better judgment, I joined Pinterest over the weekend a couple years ago. Maybe a little ambitious for a girl who was really praying she gets into the rental that still has graffiti on the side wall. Nothing even came up when I searched “Ways to dress up razor wire.” I’m not kidding…I looked, just to make sure I was out of my league. And it was confirmed. I am. Now, what to do? Do I do the world a favor and fill the void that appears to be on a decidedly “upp
Having an interesting job sometimes makes us the subject of school reports (or, more likely, AWANA questionnaires). My favorite question to answer is “What does a typical day look like for you and Joel?” While it’s a legitimate question and occasionally has a fairly straightforward answer, there are days when it’s not at all typical. And then you get several “not at all typical” days strung together for a season and it suddenly seems like a hilariously funny question. Last we
It was a long and busy summer. After fighting our way through the World Cup here in Costa Rica, we all had to return to reality. For us, that included hosting our first ever short-term team from Oklahoma! They pulled off a fantastic VBS, Teen Camp, and Spiritual Emphasis Week on campus that got a great response from all ages. We were involved in some serious counseling and Krista is finishing up her final hours toward certification, working long hours with supervisor to meet
In 7 years, we’ve never ordered McDonald’s delivery — mostly because I can’t imagine I’d get all the fries I paid for (or that if I objected, I’d get ALL the fries from the week’s deliveries that had been tossed to the bottom of the bag!). But maybe we should try it one day. Do you think they can deliver ice cream cones? If every restaurant did deliveries, what would you order? #CostaRica #findinghumor #motorcycles
Ok, how cool is this? We have a mango tree in our backyard!! We’re getting a bumper crop and, in addition to eating mangoes every day, we’re playing with them and decorating with them (and then still eating them)! LOVE it! When we are home and hear a huge “thud” on our tin roof, we all rush to the backyard to pick up the mango before Marzo gets it! Oh, and if you think a mango tree in the backyard is cool, guess what we have in the front yard! An AVOCADO tree!! (I know!!) #C
Even though we had major emissions problems, they were totally going to pass us, out of sympathy…until we had to push it through the last 3 checkpoints in the bay. That kind of put him over the edge.
As you look for specific ways to pray for us, pray that we can get this car through inspection ASAP and sell it! #CostaRica #findinghumor
