The sights and sounds of the second day were fabulous. We visited an Ethiopian church in Jerusalem. I had forgotten that the Ethiopians have a long heritage in Israel, as well.
At the end of this slideshow is the “Night Spectacular,” an amazing display of Israel’s history, shown on the walls of the Citadel. Though it is set to a moving soundtrack in person, it’s worth watching, even as a slideshow on our blog, but I’d say it’s worth the 14 hours on a plane to see it again! I loved it. As it turned out, our hotel room was right across from the city walls, so every evening we could see the show three times! (Also handy during those sleepless jet-lagging hours.) We turned off the lights and sat on the windowsill to watch our favorite parts again and again that week.
