We celebrated our graduation this morning! It was a special day. When we finally left the school after saying goodbye to our friends, we decided we needed a drive.
We took the truck out on an inaugural test drive after the latest return from the mechanic. It’s been 3 months since we’ve been able to drive it, so we’re so thankful to finally have transportation again. We needed to make sure the repairs were done right and that the truck would be ready for the next trip, so Joel suggested we follow his mountain bike trail for a little adventure.
It’s an impressive ride up in 4WD, so we were all pretty amazed that this is Joel’s “normal” route when he rides his bike. (I should have known…Joel’s routes are rarely “normal.”) There was a breathtaking view of the city at the top of the mountain!
We took a couple of friends with us…for more man-power in case we had to push the truck home. But it was beautiful and everyone kept stopping to take photos and breathe the clean air!
Not a bad way for a few graduates to kick back for an afternoon celebrating a year of studying subjunctive Spanish verbs! Thanks for all the encouragement you’ve been during the year. Some days were pretty rough and we still have a long way to go, but we’re happy we stuck with it. And we’re looking forward to continuing with our tutor in January.
